Dassies at Augrabies

Hello Wren and Immie
We have just got home after spending some days in the game reserve in the desert. Whilst we were there we saw these lovely little animals called dassies or rock rabbits. They were such fun to watch. They were not afraid of us so we could watch them play, eat, sleep and scratch.
Watch these videos and hear them make their special noises.

Drawing birds and branches

Watch this little video on how easy it is to draw some birds sitting on some branches!

Making pictures

Hello Wren
It is Saturday and no school to day! Hope you are having fun reading and playing with Leica. Here are some ideas of how to make drawings from things around your house - aren't they clever. Maybe you can think of some of your own ideas.

Fromage

Hello Wren
Hope you had a good day at school today!

This is  picture of our puppy Fromage - she is just like your Leica! She has long fur and just loves chasing a ball even if it lands in the dam - she will swim for it!

Chickens at Tashdon

I remember you feeding our chickens with Aunty Donna. We threw bread through the wire and oh how they loved that. We even picked some green plants to push through the wire. Our chickens lay eggs for us everyday so we have fresh eggs for our breakfasts.

We so want you to come back and visit us!!!

Love from Granny and Grumpet

Well hello there my little Wren!

Hello Wren
This is Granny Mouse writing to you!
I will be sending you pictures, stories and fun things to do so ask your Mum or Dad to show you this letter.

Did you know that your name means  - a little bird called a Wren? Here is a picture of one.
Can you see birds in your garden? Dad knows their names so ask him to teach you. We have seen birds flying in the sky over your house. Do you remember us looking up at the sky together?
Birds lay eggs in nests. Do you know that they all build different shaped nests. Here are some of the shapes.

The birds then lay their eggs in these snug nests and sit on their eggs until they hatch into tiny chicks.

The mommy and daddy birds feed their chicks. Some chicks eat insects, some eat fish and some eat seeds.

When they are big and strong they learn to fly.
